Ice Box Pickles

7 cups sliced cucumbers
1 onion or more, sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
1/4 cup salt

2 cups sugar
1 cup vinegar
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon tumeric
1 teaspoon mustard seed

Combine first 4 ingredients in large bowl. Cover with water and let stand 1-1/2 hours and drain. Combine last 5 ingredients and pour over cucumber mixture and stir well and cover. Put in refrigerator. Try a pickle after 3 days and serve if ready. You can let mixture set longer for more flavor.
