| Beef Noodle Casserole (Italian Style) | |||||||||
| 1 large onion, chopped 1/2 small green pepper, chopped 1 stalk celery, chopped 3 tablespoons margarine 1 pound Ground beef 1 can (4 ounces) mushroom stems 1 teaspoon seasoned salt 1/4teaspoon pepper 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce 1 can (6 oounces) tomato paste 4 ounces noodles, cooked 4 ounces Cheddar cheese Melt the margarine in large skillet and sauté the onion, green pepper, celery and mushrooms until tender (2-3 minutes) Add beef and sauté, stirring until meat loses its red color. Mix seasonings, 1/3 cup water, tomato sauce and tomato paste. Stir into meat mixture and heat well. Add noodles, mix well and put in 2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for about 30 minutes. Makes 6 servings. |
