3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, chilled and divided
1 cup butterscotch chips
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 (12 ounce) can salted mixed nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt. Cut in 1/2 cup margarine or butter until crumbly. Press into an 11x7-inch ungreased pan. Bake 15 to 18 minutes until edges are light golden brown.
In a 2 quart pan, boil last 1 tablespoon margarine or butter, chips and syrup. Cook over medium heat until chips are melted, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Spread evenly over base. Sprinkle nuts on top. Bake another 10 to 15 minutes, till edges are bubbly.Cool completely before cutting into squares.
