| French Toast Souffle | |||||||
| 12 to 14 slices white bread (crusts removed) 6 to 8 slices American cheese 8 eggs 2 cups milk 1 green pepper chopped 2 onions chopped 4 ounces mushrooms 1 pound sausage, browned and chopped and well drained (optional) Grease 9" x 13" pan. Line pan with one layer of bread. Cover with cheese. Add second layer of bread. Beat eggs and milk. Pour over bread. Sauté green pepper, onion and mushrooms until partly browned. Spread over entire surface of soufflé. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until browned. (You can layer veggies before second layer of bread if desired.) |
