Church Eggs
8 eggs
1 pound grated Cheddar cheese
1 quart milk
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (red pepper)
10 slices bread (crusts removed) buttered

Beat eggs. Mix eggs, milk and cheese and seasonings together. Cut buttered bread in 1-inch cubes and spread in greased 9" x 13" pan. Pour egg mixture over bread. Mash with fork a bit.

Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for one (1) hour.

Makes 10 to 12 servings

Note: You may add sautéed ham, bacon or sausage (well drained on paper towels).  You could also add sautéed green pepper, onion and mushrooms. Use your imagination and create your own recipe.
