JOYFUL MOMENTS
In the midst of walking my dogs this morning I happened to take a peek at the morning sky. It was breathtaking. It was so beautiful. The purple clouds turning slowly to pink, red, yellow, and then white made me feel as if I was watching God paint the morning. The birds flying across them only added to their glory and the sweet smile of the quarter moon still sitting in the sky above the clouds made me fill with the love of just being alive. It was a wonderful, joyful moment.
When you come right down to it that is really what this life is made up of: moments. There are good moments and there are bad moments. The strongest moments are the ones that live in our memories forever. Other moments are forgotten as soon as they happen. Still, life is lived moment by moment, and you can never live more than one moment at a time.
I think that a great deal of the unhappiness in life comes when we try to live all of our moments at once. We become full of guilt and regret as we go over and over past moments that can never be relived. We feel full of frustration and misery as we think of our future lives and wish that our now was different. We waste our time and energy living every moment but the present and wondering why we are so unhappy.
Alcoholics Anonymous urges its members to live life one day at a time. This is great advice. I suggest taking it a step farther by urging you to live one moment at a time. Right now you need ask yourself only one question: can I choose joy this moment? By choosing joy this moment you are doing all you can to live as you should. You are helping yourself, others, and the world. The next moment will come, of course, but the question will be the same.

Remember life is lived moment by moment!!!
Why not make it joyful moment by joyful moment???
