A daughter is born, so dear and sweet
She’s an extension of love, when two people meet
She brings her parents so much love and joy
Who cares, that she wasn’t a boy!
She looks to her mother for most of her care
However, she knows in her heart
That her father is still there!
She grows to her teens so thoughtful and kind
An although love has made her so blind
She still is that wonderful, daughter of mine!
We know that someday we must part
For some young man who has stolen her heart
Still one thing we bear in mind
She will always be, that daughter of mine!
