Perhaps you had a loved one
Or maybe it was a close friend;
Who gave up their life for their country
Giving all that they had to the end.
We honor our fallen soldiers
Today as we should everyday;
May they rest in peace, our heroes;
May they never have died in vain.
Today as we honor these angels
May you also find peace within.
Don't cry for our fallen soldiers;
They've simply gone home again.
Remember with joy not sadness
And have a happy Memorial Day.
Celebrate their lives with gladness;
They would have wanted it that way.
