| Lets Play The Dreidel Game! |
Dreidel playing is fun, no resting 'till I'm done. Every time I spin it drops and I always win. Dance, dreidel dance, with all your might. Ever spinning, every night Let the dreidel continue its flight. written by Simcha Ward |
| To play Dreidel, use pennies, raisins, or chocolate coins (gelt) as tokens or chips. One player spins the dreidel. When the dreidel stops, the fate of the player is decided by the letter that is facing up. The four letters are: SHIN, HEY, GIMEL, NUN These letters mean "A Great Miracle Happened There." In Israel the dreidel letters mean something slightly different. They read "A Great Miracle Happened Here." NUN...Nothing happens. The next player takes his or her turn. GIMEL...The player takes all of the pot HEY...The player takes half of the pot SHIN...The player must put one token into the pot |
